Is Your Loved One on the Utah DSPD Wait List? One-Time Funding Available Now!
Time sensitive - DSPD has one-time funding for respite. If your child is on the wait list, they may qualify for temporary caregiver compensation and/or one-time respite, PPE (masks, gloves, sanitizer), assistive tech such as a tablet, and Meals on Wheels for ages 22 and above. See the link for details and submit a request by September 13th, 2020.
Special thanks goes to Governor Herbert and DSPD Director, Angie Pinna, who have worked together to get legislation signed. About 25% of families on the wait list will be able to access one-time services. That equates approximately 1,000 Utah families of children with qualifying special needs who will be able to have some relief during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jedi Training to Live Well
Super Kids had an amazing time getting healthy eating tips and attending a "Jedi Training," battling it out with Star Wars villains on May 14th, 2018. Dr. Rafferty of Northern Utah Pediatrics shared her expertise in making nutrition fun and accessible. She recommends four steps to change up your nutrition:
THANK YOU to Our Community Partners:
Northern Utah Pediatrics for hosting the event
Alpine Garrison
Kai Shi, Ogden - martial arts and character building
- Try no meat for a day. Increase veggies!
- Try a new recipe each week.
- Plant a garden together. Children are more likely to eat what they plant!
- Let your kids help plan the menu.

Santa for Super Kids 2017
This event was put on by Northern Utah Pediatrics and Families of Super Kids.
Thank you to Santa and Mrs. Clause for visiting our Super Kids! Santa and Mrs. Clause have a great love for children with special needs. This was a special night where families were able to come out before it gets too cold, avoid big crowds, and have some personal time visiting with Santa and the Misses. Children received a candy cane from Santa and if they could not eat candy, Santa gave them a special sensory toy. Families enjoyed the glow of lights, soft Christmas music, a...nd making sensory crafts while Santa and Mrs. Clause complimented their artwork and entertained with sleigh bells!
We had a wonderful turn out. Thank you, families who were able to make it. We wish families who were sick or otherwise busy a very wonderful, healthy holiday season.
(If you are a family who came and you do not see your photos, we do not have a media release and are happy to get one to you to share your photos.)
